Our client, The Jilly Box, was founded in 2019 by Jillian Harris and her business partner, Tyler Evans. The Jilly Box is a curated quarterly lifestyle subscription box filled with products loved by Jillian Harris and Team Jilly Box. The team is passionate about supporting small, eco-friendly, diverse, and cruelty-free brands from across North America. The Jilly Box concept shares some of Jillian's favourite products with their valued clientele and helps support small and up & coming businesses. Each box contains various brands that range from home decor, fashion, bath, beauty, health and wellness - all while keeping seasonality top of mind! Oftentimes you can find a custom item or two within The Jilly Box that has been designed exclusively by Jillian and the brand.
The Jilly Box has an exciting opportunity for a Junior Graphic Designer to join their Kelowna, BC, based team (either in office or remote). Reporting to the Senior Designer, as the successful candidate, you will support the creation of The Jilly Box brand designs. Supporting the vision of The Jilly Box, you will edit and support content creation for the website, photoshoots, social media & digital marketing, and print collateral. Your keen eye for detail will ensure that all brand assets reflect the overall brand voice and quality. Previous experience working in a creative support role, and a strong ability to work with colors, patterns, and palette matching will be vital to the success of this position.
Additional responsibilities will include:
  • Assists senior designer in creating visual concepts and designs;
  • Collaborates with the creative team to develop design solutions consistent with the Jilly Box brand;
  • Uses software tools to create graphics and layouts;
  • Contributes to brainstorming sessions for creative ideas and concepts;
  • Participates in the design process from concept to final production;
  • Supports the preparation and review of photoshoot graphics and content;
  • Produces graphic content for print, social media, website, and other media platforms;
  • Researches design trends and techniques to stay updated with industry standards;
  • Assists in the preparation of presentations and design pitches;
  • Provides support in maintaining brand consistency across all projects;
  • Communicates effectively with team members and clients to ensure project requirements are met;
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in design, marketing, or another related field;
  • 2+ years of professional graphic design experience, (preferably within the interior design, or home decor industry);
  • Proficient in current design software, including Adobe Creative Suite (Ps, Ai, Id), Figma;
  • Understanding of UX/UI design, usability, design systems, including e-commerce platforms and email marketing software;
  • Strong understanding of design principles, typography, color theory, and layout composition;
  • Able to create integrated content across all marketing channels: digital, social media, paid media, mobile, offline, and print;
  • Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint;
  • Creative thinker who is capable of innovative ideas while maintaining brand voice and messaging;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to pitch and present ideas clearly;
  • Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team;
  • Operates effectively with urgency to meet timelines;
  • Highly organized with the ability to multi-task and support several projects simultaneously;
  • Detail-oriented, with proactive problem-solving skills;
  • A positive person with a ‘can-do, make it' happen disposition.

This exciting full-time, remote or onsite role offers a salary of $52,000/year based on experience. After a 3-month waiting period, this position includes a comprehensive total compensation package including three weeks' vacation, health and dental benefits, continuing education opportunities and much more!
