We are seeking an Electronics Engineer to report to the Production Manager.

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and implementing electronic systems and components. You will be responsible for bringing new ideas to life, from conceptual design to production, ensuring the highest standards of quality and innovation are met. This position offers the opportunity to work on various projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams to create products that meet our customer's needs and exceed their expectations.

This role is based out of our Collingwood location at 20 Stewart Road.

Start Date: Immediate

Hours of Work: This is a full-time position working 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday to Friday

Responsibilities for this position include:

  • Leading the design and development of electronic systems and components, including circuit design, PCB layout, and prototyping
  • Conducting thorough testing and validation of electronic designs to ensure reliability and compliance with industry standards
  • Collaborating with mechanical engineers and firmware developers to ensure seamless integration of electronic components within broader systems
  • Engaging in the full product lifecycle, from concept through to production, providing technical support and ensuring continuous improvement
  • Troubleshooting and resolving complex electronic issues during development and post-production phases
  • Staying abreast of emerging trends and technologies in the electronics industry, applying this knowledge to drive innovation within Sensor Technology
  • Documenting design processes, specifications, and project progress, maintaining clear and comprehensive records
  • Other miscellaneous duties as required

The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a closely related field
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in circuit design, with a strong portfolio of successful projects
  • Proficient in the use of electronic design software (i.e., Altium Designer, Eagle, OrCAD)
  • Experience in circuit theory and PCB design principles
  • Solid understanding of electronic components, circuit theory, and PCB design principles
  • Experience with microcontrollers, embedded systems, and firmware integration is highly desirable
  • Proficiency in financial management, demonstrating the capability to exercise cost consciousness and effectively operate within budgetary constraints
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams & MS Project)
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Excellent communication (written & verbal) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with employees at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Excellent fault-finding, critical thinking & problem-solving skills
  • Able to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
  • Strong work ethic, innovative, positive attitude, diligence & commitment
  • Candidates must be able to obtain an industry security clearance when/if requested
  • Candidates must have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada under relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations
