Job Summary: This role is responsible to process daily financial transaction to ensure accurate and on-time month end reporting while also assisting the controller to provide leadership and management of all financial resources related processes, ensuring these processes are aligned with the strategic direction and annual goals of the organization.

Required Qualifications:

  • College diploma or University Accounting degree (CPA designation preferred)
  • A minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in a decentralized manufacturing environment with complete responsibility for the finance function; automotive/industrial experience is preferred
  • Proven leadership and problem solving skills
  • An independent critical thinker who displays attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and time management skills with the ability to multi-task
  • Excellent team player
  • Experience in working with CMS is an asset
  • Knowledge of Bill 198 internal control requirements
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office especially Excel

Responsibilities:

  • Must work in accordance with Health & Safety regulations, Martinrea Industrial Canada rules, policies and procedures
  • Must use or wear equipment, protective devices or clothing as required by Martinrea Industrial Canada
  • Daily monitoring of daily bank transactions and daily reconciliation of bank
  • Perform complete cycle of accounts receivable - invoicing, responding to customer concerns, ensuing timely and full Collection of payment
  • Prepare and maintain balance sheet accounts - A/P, accruals, prepaid, fixed assets, tooling accounts
  • Prepare corporate month end reporting requirements
  • Prepare ad hoc and month end manual journal entries
  • Complete month end and year end binders in a timely fashion
  • Provide financial analysis of balance sheet, income statement, cash flow
  • Reconciliation of General Ledger Accounts to Sub-ledgers and reconciliation of all inter-company account to sister company
  • Inventory cost accounting
    • Prepare inventory analysis and analyze variances
    • Assist in improvement in internal controls related to inventory
    • Update inventory standard cost as needed
    • Ensure accuracy of inventory costing (overhead, labour, material, etc.)
    • Monitor inventory transactions
    • Participate in BOM audits
  • Proactively provide continuous improvement ideas relating to both financial and production processes.
  • Ensure compliance with the Bill 198 requirements.
  • Provide other ad hoc assistance to controller as required
  • Provide support and contribute to the quality and environmental requirements and regulations as well as the implementation and maintenance of Martinrea Manufacturing Systems at the plant.
  • Abide by all Company polices including, but not limited to the following; Health and safety, Quality and Environmental Systems, Human Resources policies, and the Martinrea Employee Handbook
  • Must understand the six elements of the Quality System, Record Retention, Document Control, Non-conforming Material, Corrective Action, Preventative Action and internal audits as well as department procedures.
  • Demonstrate 5S Methodology in your work area
