WHAT YOU WILL DO

Reporting to the Manager of Clinical Services, you'll conduct assessments and develop individualized treatment plans that align with The Newly's treatment model. You will primarily be supporting clients with chronic pain through our Intensive Outpatient and Worksafe Programs. You may also have the opportunity to participate in other programs as they become established. You'll work in close collaboration with our multidisciplinary team of clinicians to set clients up for success in their future and facilitating enhanced engagement in daily their functioning. Accountabilities

  • Perform clinical assessments and provide a clinical diagnosis.
  • Set appropriate goals with clients, develop individualized treatment plans, and provide corresponding treatment and interventions.
  • Complete ongoing re-evaluation of client status as clinically indicated. Complete and interpret outcome measures.
  • Facilitate group exercise and group education sessions as needed.
  • Provide Return to Work recommendations for funded clients.
  • Work with kinesiologists to develop exercise programs.
  • Participate in weekly case consultations with the interdisciplinary team.
  • Collaborate with mental health clinicians to provide care in a bio-psycho-social-spiritual model.
  • Communicate with external stakeholders and client referral sources as needed.
  • Assist with treatment program planning and design as indicated.
  • Ensure same-day completion of all session notes.
  • Complete initial, progress, or discharge reports for clients within funded programs. Provide input in discharge summaries for those in other programs.
  • Schedule own clients in EMR and monitor them to ensure accuracy.
  • Other responsibilities related to the role and scope of work may be assigned.

WHAT YOU BRING

Experience

  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience working with mental health clients in an interdisciplinary setting, specifically with WorkSafe or other third-party funders is preferred.
  • Experience working with chronic pain clients is a significant asset.
  • Experience working with First Responder clients is a significant asset.

Education

  • A Master's degree in Physiotherapy is required.
  • Post-secondary education on a mental health related field is an asset.

Professional Registration/Designation

  • An active registration with the College of Physical Therapists of British Columbia (CPTBC) is required.
  • Professional liability insurance is required.

Technical Competences

  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams is required.
  • Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems is also required.

Background Check
