This position contributes to the overall organization by assisting the Project Management team and Pre-Construction / Estimating team with project costing, safety and quality program implementation, scheduling, and budgeting, also estimating and pre-construction of projects. They will work with the relevant operations department to start-up, execute, and close-out Hall's projects.

Your day-to-day will look like:

  • Assist with preparation and execution of overall Execution/Work Plans and schedules.
  • Organize and maintain project site files and documents; manage electronic document databases. Ensure that files are saved promptly and accurately.
  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate documents for the project. This includes, but is not limited to: drawings, plans, submittals, change orders, document logs, and purchase orders.
  • Track actual project quantities daily and provide monthly (or other) summaries for invoicing.
  • Review subcontractor/supplier progress applications and payment certificates.
  • Liaise with consulting engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers regarding the contract, change notices, design revisions, RFIs, RFQs, etc.
  • Prepare for and participate in meetings with the project team, architects, consultants, and subcontractors.
  • Prepare and distribute accurate/detailed meeting minutes in a timely manner.
  • Provide other technical office support as required by the project team.
  • Maintain project compliance to cost codes by reviewing productions and quantities on HCSS for accuracy and while sending Daily Quantity Reports to clients for unit rate projects.
  • Track change order implications per the Project Management Manual.
  • Assist the site supervisor with field staff administrative duties as required.
  • Routinely visit project site and interact with site supervisor and site crews. Site visits should occur (at minimum) 1-2 times per week, per project, depending on project requirements.
  • Support the project quality control program and/or the quality management system.
  • Assist in the implementation of the corporate Health & Safety Program.
  • Assist with final quality document turnover to the client at project completion.

You bring the following qualifications, technical and interpersonal skills:
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Years of experience: 1 year minimum
  • Education: Bachelor of Engineering Degree is preferable
  • Designations: EIT working towards PEng designation, considered an asset

Preferred Technical Skills:

  • Programs - HCSS, MS Projects
  • Fluent in English
  • Strong with data analysis and its application, as required
  • Interpreting Cost Reports
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, MS Teams, etc.

Interpersonal Skills:

  • Comfortable working in a team environment and adding value by providing input as required.
  • Ability to problem solve either within a team or on your own, asking for assistance only when required.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication.
  • Be a good listener and be willing to learn through observation and absorbing knowledge from coworkers.
  • Understand how to prioritize workload and be responsive.
  • Paying attention to detail and identifying potential issues in a proactive manner.
  • Comfortable with conflict or ‘difficult' conversations with clients and colleagues.
