Position Summary:

Position: Pressure & Vac / Firewater Site Supervisor

Type: Full Time

Location: Horizon

Schedule: 7 days on/ 7 days off

Role Summary:

A Site Supervisor is responsible for mentoring team members, resolving issues and serving as a link between subordinates and upper management. They may conduct regular inspections of the work to check for inconsistencies and deviations from company-established quality standards. The ideal candidate will be a competent individual who will be able to guide and train employees. The successful candidate will report directly to the Site Manager.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Endorse company culture, values, and Absolute rules.
  • Promote strong safety culture in leading by example and initiating critical task field visits to conduct assessments with supervisors and HSE to better prepare a successful execution plan.
  • Provide leadership support to both Pressure & Vac and Firewater supervisors in their daily assignments and to overcome challenges as they arise.
  • Must be a self-motivated individual with ability to motivate their team (80+ team members) in achieving operational goals while actively pursuing efficiency.
  • Must have team building skills.
  • Attend pre-job & ground disturbance meetings.
  • Attend daily safety meetings and host a minimum of one per shift cycle.
  • Comprehensive ability in leading Pressure & Vac / Firewater industry practices and procedures.
  • Maintain the highest quality of communication between clients, field team and upper management as needed.
  • Conduct equipment fleet audits, as well as support supervision in managing non-compliance and holding team members accountable to equipment fleet requirements.
  • Conduct various internal audits to measure and maintain compliance, as well as support supervision in managing non-compliance and holding team members accountable to industry and company standards.
  • Spot-check field worker competencies, compliance, and performance.
  • Complete procurement tasks to ensure availability of critical spare parts and operational needs.
  • Collaboration Requirements:
    • Collaborate with QA/QC and leadership to produce, review and maintain quality standards.
    • Collaborate with planners, leadership, and clients to plan and forecast operational requirements.
    • Collaborate with HSE Specialist to maintain a continuous improvement and proactive approach to safety.
    • Collaborate with Trainer/Coach in maintaining a continuous improvement in training and competencies.
    • Collaborate with Site Coordinators/Administrators to support them as needed and maintain a smooth booking and administrative flow.

Education & Experience:

  • 5 to 10 years of proven leadership experience backed with references
  • Successful progression through roles
  • Previous experience in leading a large team of over 40 staff
  • Advanced knowledge of the MS Office Suite
  • Solid understanding of safety and training legislation; competency, observation and evaluation skills
  • A combination of education and experience will be considered
  • Conflict and employee management
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License; class 3 or 1 considered an asset
  • CSTS and OSSA Regional Orientation or OSSA BSO (Basic Safety Orientation before December 31, 2018) or CSO (Common Safety Orientation after January 1, 2019)
