Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct service support through listening to concerns, assessing needs and providing information on early learning programs and services.
  • Build a trusting and a collaborative partnership with each family.
  • Work in collaboration to build a family driven plan that focuses on solutions and a family-centered approach.
  • Pro-active coaching, including short and long-term goal setting and helping families remove barriers to goals.
  • Connect families to services and community partners for support.
  • Support families as they take steps to access services including attending meetings, participating on phone calls, and making contacts.
  • Consult and collaborate with the Indigenous Family Navigator to develop opportunities for early year's groups.
  • Work with partners to increase awareness of resources for families, providing a connection point to local services.
  • Demonstrate sensitivity to working with culturally, economically and/or socially diverse populations
  • Track family outcomes, produce summary reports and regularly reflect on ways to improve service.
  • Share knowledge, assist and learn from peers across the organization.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in a related human service related field or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • One (1) year recent related experience.
  • Willingness to travel the North Okanagan in order to meet with families.
  • First Aid or willingness to obtain
  • Class 5 driver's license
  • Successful completion of Agency screening process, including criminal record check

This position is open to all applicants.

This position requires union membership.

Hours:Casual work up to 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Rate of Pay: 29.17 per hour, plus cost shared benefits
