Rise Vision is currently searching for a Senior Staff Accountant (CPA required) to join our Finance Team to help support our efforts of bringing digital signage to more schools in North America.
Mission
As the Senior Staff Accountant you are responsible for the integrity of our Balance Sheet. This includes all reconciliations; bank accounts, accounts receivable, prepaid amortization schedules, accrual liabilities etc. You understand the components of each reconciling item, the adjustments that are required to reconcile and the impact on the profit and loss statement of the company. In addition you are able to identify errors in our processes that are leading to incorrect accounting and work with the individual responsible to amend said process. You follow accrual accounting principles and our accounting processes. All tasks are completed within deadlines to facilitate a smooth month end closing process.
The Senior Staff Accountant is familiar with the accounting processes for HAAS and prepares all entries as required.
The Senior Staff Accountant also supports other teams by diligently answering internal and external inquiries received via Slack, emails or postal mail.

Key Responsibilities
  • Hardware As A Service Accounting:
  • Understand the principles of HAAS accounting and the impact on each balance sheet account
  • Writes the processes associated with various changes associated with the program eg evaluation unit accounting, changing terms of contracts, end of life of units etc
  • Enter vendor invoices as required, reconcile to the tracking sheet
  • Prepare month end JEs and amortization
  • Balance Sheet Reconciliations
  • Responsible to ensure all balance sheet accounts are reconciled as per predefined schedule and guidelines
  • Ensure all reconciling items are supported with appropriate back up
  • Writes and/or redefines processes where issues arise and educates the team as required
  • General Accounting Tasks and Month End Reporting
  • Monitor messages in slack and respond within 24 hours
  • Monitor inquiries and/or requests in emails every day and respond within 24 hours
  • Prepares Balance Sheet support as required for monthly reporting to parent co.

Key Requirements
  • CPA designation (mandatory)
  • At least 5 years of accounting experience in medium companies with multiple departments
  • Experience with multi-currencies and intercompany transactions
  • Proven computer skills such as Excel, Google applications (spreadsheets, words), Slack, Ceridian, NetSuite, etc.
  • Excellent communication skills, including written and verbal
  • Proactive working attitude and problem solving skills
  • Strong ability to organize and prioritize tasks and information
  • Previous experience with Netsuite and Chargebee is a bonus
  • Quick learner and able to adapt to fast paced environments
  • Understands the importance of reporting deadlines and will go above and beyond to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Meticulous and hardworking and someone who thinks proactively.
