Role

Reporting to the VP of Health and Safety, the Training Coordinator is responsible for planning, scheduling, coordinating, and setting up various training requirements that are required for Rising Edge personnel. The Training Coordinator is also responsible for following up and tracking training and certification for field employees, as well as maintenance of all training related documentation. This role also requires communication with department managers, business unit leaders and project managers.

Responsibilities

  • Review new and current Rising Edge Employee's training records to ensure compliance of safety-related training certificates are completed and valid (i.e., not expired)
  • Coordinate with the Purchasing department for the pre-approval of purchase orders to set up and schedule in class training sessions offered through various vendors
  • Act as the point of contact for any questions, concerns, or requests made by internal or external parties regarding training-related topics
  • Administrate Rising Edge's use of ISNetworld and ComplyWorks (application/services) and continuously monitor its safety rating and requirements
  • Assist Learning and Development Specialist in content development, training material, and presentations
  • Work with various external vendors and agencies to establish relationships for training courses and materials
  • Ongoing review of current and potential new vendor relationships for training needs

Requirements

  • College degree or diploma in Human Resources, Education, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent work experience) would be an asset
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in training management and coordination would be preferred
  • Experience in an administrative role (preferably within the Health and Safety realm)
  • Valid, WHMIS, and First Aid preferred
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record – Why?
  • General knowledge of training programs and processes
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) is required
  • Working knowledge of contractor management and training requirements through ISNetworld ,Complyworks, Avetta as well as other 3rd party HSE management systems.
  • Proficiency/experience in ViewPoint Software and/or SharePoint and/or M-files would be an asset
  • Ability to identify complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
  • Strong communication skills in both verbal and written abilities to convey information effectively
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to adapt to fluid and urgent situations
