What You'll Be Responsible For

As our Digital Marketing Coordinator, you'll be responsible for building brand presence and trust with our community through content ideas, writing, design, engagement, and events.

With a flair for design, exceptional copywriting, a keen interest in marketing automation, and a hunger to make the most of our social channels, you will support us in implementing our email and social marketing efforts and take responsibility for gathering relevant analytics and performance metrics to help us grow, test, learn, and evolve our marketing game.

What Your Day Will Look Like

B2C Marketing

  • Plan and post social media content in order to grow our following among our target audience
  • Edit and publish long-form written content, such as blog posts and newsletters
  • Support the continuous advancement of email features, process improvements, and automation capabilities to optimize the consumer experience and workflows
  • Support in the planning, development, and execution of marketing campaigns across a number of channels, such as paid media, printed media, website and organic social media
  • Support internal and external online and in-person community events, whether it's a private event in downtown Toronto, a virtual workshop for lead acquisition, or a series of Instagram Lives during awareness weeks

Research & Analytics

  • Leveraging analytics and competitive analysis to improve marketing strategies
  • Supporting the optimization of marketing channels and ROI
  • Track, measure, and report key trends and conversations, including emerging topics, competitive activity, industry news, and other topics, across all platforms

What You Will Learn

  • Strong marketing and customer service skills, including active listening, problem-solving and time management
  • How to effectively manage a number of social media platforms and create content
  • Key design skills in Canva for platforms such as our website, newsletters, and presentations
  • How to communicate clearly in our brand tone and voice
  • The ability to identify and track relevant metrics, including engagement benchmarks, growth, paid and organic traffic, and more
  • How to analyze the performance of marketing campaigns across platforms such as our website and social media channels

Requirements

  • You're pursuing a degree or certificate in marketing, media, or business, or have just graduated
  • High proficiency in using Instagram, TikTok, and Linkedin, including an understanding of the different features, audience demographics, and best practices for each platform is crucial
  • Proven experience in graphic design, video editing, and writing engaging captions. Familiarity with tools like Canva, Riverside, Invideo, and creative software is a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write within a brand voice
  • We are a virtual company, which means that you need a private workspace in your home to work comfortably
  • Since this role is made possible through the Canada Summer Jobs Grant, we require the candidate to be no older than 30 years of age at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada

Pay and Duration

  • The internship is expected to last for 8 weeks, with the possibility of extension based on performance and business needs.
  • $24.00 per hour
  • Remote first (there may be occasional in-person team meetings and events in the GTHA)
