Position Summary

We are looking for a thorough Construction estimator to calculate possible costs and gains of construction projects. You will collect and analyze data according to a series of useful variables. The goal is to provide the company with accurate information that will help in operations and strategic planning. You will attend client meetings during the initial phase to assist with, design feedback, budgeting, material costs, schedule of the project and coordination.

As an Estimator your key accountabilities will involve:

  • Acquire understanding of the requirements of the project at hand.
  • Select metrics to produce valid estimates.
  • Visit sites, warehouses, and other venues to gather essential information.
  • Complete estimates on projects; project site visits, quantity take-off, pricing and can present the estimate for management.
  • Analyze data and produce forecasts.
  • Perform on going risk assessment of trades.
  • Prepare detailed reports or bids for submission to appropriate parties.
  • Continuously manage trade tenders, trade qualification, preparation of scopes of work and tender analysis
  • Foster relationships with key vendors/clients (subcontractors, architects etc.)

As an Estimator your experience and qualifications will include:

  • Proven experience as construction estimator.
  • Basic understanding of accounting and project management concepts
  • Deep understanding of research methodology, data analysis and estimation metrics
  • Comfortable with numbers and technology
  • Excellent knowledge of software
  • Great attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
  • Well-organized and reliable
  • Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) or other qualification will be a plus
