Position Overview:

The Advancement and Alumni Coordinator is responsible for transforming and enhancing the processes, systems and tools to enable the organisation to develop robust communication, programming and revenue strategies to drive alumni participation and philanthropic investment with Southpointe Academy.

Reporting to the Executive Director, Advancement, this role will commence as soon as possible.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide senior administrative support for overall Advancement program and specifically to the Director, Advancement and Alumni Engagement;
  • Work independently and support outreach for Annual Fund and Campaigns;
  • Use experience and judgement to resolve problems and prioritise work on behalf of the department;
  • Gift processing, format, and generate gift receipts, and pledge reminders;
  • Produce and analyse monthly Annual Fund and Campaign reports as requested by Director;
  • Maintain event calendar and assist in event management including attending evening and weekend functions;
  • Maintain alumni website, social media presence, and create advancement and alumni e-newsletters on a regular basis;
  • Maintain database through Raiser's Edge and Alma records;
  • Seek out and contact alumni who have lost contact with Southpointe.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

  • A postsecondary degree or a combination of relevant comparable skills and experience;
  • Minimum three years' experience working in alumni relations, including marketing and communications, public event organisation, and fund raising or business administration. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered;
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher and website software. Adobe In Design an asset;
  • Not-for-profit or public sector experience;

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Graduate of Southpointe;
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and work efficiently under deadline pressure;
  • Knowledge of social networking sites. As well as Raiser's Edge experience.

Salary and Benefits:

  • As per approved salary scale $33.63 per hour;

Work Schedule:

  • Typical days of work Monday to Friday, year round;
  • Typical hours of work 8:00am - 4:00pm.
