ABOUT THE ROLEThe Director of Engineering will join the leadership team and report to the CEO. You will work closely with key members across the organization, and lead a team of engineers to design and implement key features in our patient and physician facing portals.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
- Collaborate with Product and Leadership to prioritize incoming requests, and plan engineering work required to build subsequent features
- Roll up your sleeves and join the team to help write code in different areas as needed, roughly 30-40% of time expected, mostly back-end
- Architect solutions that scale to millions of users to improve health and well being
- Work on our initiatives to adopt AI technologies to enhance our provider's patient care efforts
- Keep in mind the needs of physicians and patients using the technology, and how the features being built will ultimately feed into the broader cloud-ecosystem
- Scale the Engineering team with Rocket Doctor as the company continues to grow over the coming years
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
- 8+ years of full-time software engineering experience (with 3+ years of experience managing software engineering teams)
- Successfully scaled an engineering organization from a seed-stage company to a Series A or Series B level company
- Highly technical with expertise in web application development, infrastructure, architecture, and DevOps
- Building web applications with best practices and achieving a high level of test coverage
- Experience creating applications in React.js, Express.js, Typescript, PostgreSQL, and hosted on GCP. Knowledge of frameworks such as Nest.js would be helpful.
