Job Title: Junior Quality Assurance AnalystJob ID: MK95518711Location: Edmonton, ABOverview:Our Alberta-based client is looking for Junior Quality Assurance Analyst to the Service Excellence Transformation program centralized applications support, which has significantly increased the size of the application portfolio managed by the Information Services and Technology department. The application portfolio contains many applications that duplicate functionality, are only used by a small subset of the organization, lack ownership or no longer have a convincing reason to exist. The purpose of this project is to optimize and rationalize the application portfolio. What you will be doing:
  • Participates in the project lifecycle, using approved testing and quality assurance process and methods to catch defects as early as possible.
  • Participates in project scope meetings and requirements gathering to get a full understanding of the project details.
  • Participates in sculpting the project test plan and testing tasks.
  • Translates design requirements and project specifications into a test suite.
  • Assists with detailed planning and coordination of all aspects of the test plans.
  • Develops quality assurance strategy and test plans
  • Takes direction and can work independently
  • Develops and maintains required documentation.
  • Mentors the team on testing and quality practices.
  • Provides technical advice, assessments and estimates to Project Manager.
  • Develops a strong working knowledge of products, services, and industry trends to select appropriate technologies to meet application and Client requirements.
  • Works with the Business Analyst in the translation of business requirements into testing requirements.
  • Communicates with all areas to ensure a smooth efficient process.
  • Identifies recurring quality issues and develops initiatives to address them. Acts as a driver for these initiatives.
  • Acts as Technical Leads or Program Managers eyes and ears within the teams to communicate bi-directionally the needs of rigour for Quality.
What you must have:
  • Excellent knowledge and experience with object-oriented programming, unit testing, and relational databases.
  • Excellent knowledge of and professional usage of development tools such as source code and project management tools.
  • Experience in various development methodologies like Agile/Kanban.
  • software development and testing methodologies (white box and black box testing, regression testing, load/stress testing, performance, using manual and automated testing techniques, Waterfall testing, Agile testing).
  • Experience with using Test Management Software and Ul automation tools
  • Experience with languages such as: Java, Selenium, C#, PHP and Code management: Git
