Our Terrace office is recruiting environmental professionals with experience in aquatics and fisheries biology and/or environmental monitoring to help us deliver a wide range of projects throughout our region. THE OPPORTUNITY
Triton Environmental Consultants Ltd. (“Triton”) is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Qualified Environmental Professional to join a well-established team of environmental professionals based out of our Terrace, BC office.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading field programs and providing technical support to project managers. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:
  • Provide technical leadership to design, plan, and lead various field programs.
  • Manage tasks and projects according to approved scopes of works and deliver quality reports on schedule.
  • Liaise with on-site client representatives, contractors, and regulators.
  • Provide quality and independent review for projects.
  • Provide an understanding of environmental Best Management Practices and advise clients accordingly.
  • Work collaboratively within the Triton corporate culture.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
Ideal candidates will possess the following skills, traits, and qualifications:
  • B.Sc. or M.Sc. in biology or related field
  • Possess a professional designation (i.e., R.P.Bio., P.Biol., PAg, etc.) and be a member in good standing of the professional body
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience required. Preference will be given to candidates with >5 years of experience.
  • Technical knowledge in aquatics and fisheries biology, including fish sampling and stream assessment experience
  • Experience with environmental monitoring/inspection and familiar with sediment and erosion control measures and mitigations
  • Sound knowledge of water quality and sampling techniques
  • Ability and willingness to work in a variety of field settings that can range from active construction sites to remote wilderness
  • Demonstrated experience with technical writing, reporting, and communication
  • Multi-jurisdictional knowledge of environmental regulations, policies, permits, and legislation
  • Superior problem-solving skills, with the ability to think outside the box to find pragmatic solutions
  • Strong interpersonal skills and collaborative working style
  • Provide mentorship and training for our environmental professional team
  • Valid driver's licence from a Canadian province or territory acceptable for driving alone and with passengers in a work setting

COMPENSATON
The compensation range for this position is $38-$54 per hour, dependent on candidate qualifications and years of experience.
