Job Responsibilities:

  • Interact and work with various departments within the firm to reconcile differences and calculate pieces critical to the financial statements and regulatory reports.
  • Perform general accounting duties for the broker dealer including reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, cost centre allocations and general bookkeeping.
  • Cash management, including wire and ACH payments and tracking for all electronic disbursements, electronic deposit of cash receipts, processing credit card payments, and preparation of daily cash report.
  • Managing the accounts receivable & accounts payable functions, including issuing invoices, monitoring cash movements, arranging payments and reviewing supplier invoices for variances and investigating any discrepancies.
  • Preparing and filing HST returns and EHT remittance forms.
  • Preparation of working papers including key GL account reconciliations to support month end, and year end close processes.
  • Tracking and maintaining client recurring templates for invoicing based on contracts.
  • Ad-hoc projects and administrative/accounting duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS; Business/Econ with emphasis in accounting/finance preferred.
  • Regulatory reporting experience with broker dealer preferred.
  • Financial or securities industry experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and the ability to apply the concepts, theories, and terminology to complete daily tasks with accuracy.
  • Highly proficient in MS Excel (eg. Pivot tables, Power Pivot/Query, VLOOKUPs etc.), Google Docs and Data Extraction.
  • Experience working with QuickBooksPro Online software.
Responsibilities:
  • Interact and work with various departments within the firm to reconcile differences and calculate pieces critical to the financial statements and regulatory reports.
  • Perform general accounting duties for the broker dealer including reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, cost center allocations and general bookkeeping.
  • Margin management of client accounts
  • Develop, enhance, and improve internal management reporting by identifying process inefficiencies
  • Preparation of working papers including key GL account reconciliations to support month end, and year end close processes.
  • Assist with internal controls implementation.
  • Support internal and external year-end audits.
  • Prepare recurring and non-recurring journal entries for transactions such as cash, debt, management fees, and expenses.
  • Ad-hoc projects and administrative/accounting duties as required.
