PM Dispatcher

Location: Calgary, AB

SOUTHLAND is currently looking for a PM Dispatcher to join our team in south Calgary. Dispatchers are responsible for effective day-to-day communication between driving staff and operations, ensuring the safe and efficient completion of school runs and charters. Dispatchers are expected to display exemplary patience and communication skills in dealing with driver, parent, school, and public matters.

Available shift is Monday through Friday from 9:00 am - 6:00 pm.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Ensure that all driver check-ins are accounted for, including late-ins, early-outs, and pro-days
• Deal with unit breakdowns by facilitating communication between drivers and maintenance personnel and ensure that the involved route is completed
• Provide tactful and professional phone assistance in dealing with driver, parent, school and public matters
• Administrative duties (such as HOS, filing, and reports)

Knowledge and Skills Required

• Map reading skills with a strong knowledge of the city; specifically road systems, locations of schools, and major attractions
• Strong communication skills and phone etiquette
• Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure
• Computer proficiency
