The Designer – Technical Resource plays a key role in helping the company's sales efforts by crafting detailed drawings and support documents for furniture installations. This role works closely with other departments to make sure everyone understands the ins and outs of setting up furniture for our clients.
This position reports to the Customer Experience Manager.
What You'll Do:
  • Collaborate closely with Sales Associates to create custom work environments that meet client needs, budget constraints, and engineering standards. This involves documentation of furniture inventory, thorough research, and detailed communication to produce accurate technical drawings and installation plans.
  • Leverage advanced software like AutoCAD, CET Designer, and 2020 CAP to design drawings and supporting documentation for analysis plans. Provide comprehensive product specifications and pricing details to Sales Associates, ensuring all special requirements are met.
  • Develop technical drawings for client proposals and special orders, ensuring accuracy and alignment to project specifications.
  • Enhance client presentations with compelling renderings, mock-ups, visualizations, and interactive 3D walkthroughs to showcase proposed installations.
  • Conduct inventories and site measurements to facilitate accurate planning and execution of projects.
  • Create clear and precise drawings for the Installation team to minimize errors during installation. Actively engage in problem-solving and sourcing backup solutions for unforeseen challenges, and assist in resolving any installation deficiencies or claims.
  • Stay updated on the latest Burovision product offerings through various training sessions, including manufacturer-led training, webinars, software upgrades, and product updates. Collaborate closely with the Sales team to ensure comprehensive product knowledge and effective client communication.
What We Need:
  • Minimum CEGEP level in Interior Design, Architecture / University in Ottawa
  • Strong computer skills and Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Photoshop, Autodesk Revit and 3DS Max, and other design software
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in a similar role
