Sanitation Supervisor
Location: Albany, PE (Onsite)
Pay Range: $50,000 - $60,000 per year.

Position Summary:
Ensures the manufacturing environment and machinery meets the food quality and safety standards. Confirming that the process guidelines are followed effectively and safely. Taking responsibility for making sure that the workers follow the guidelines related to GMP, and HACCP. Work closely with Plant Production team & QC/HACCP team to provide quick response to requests relating to sanitation. Reports to Vice President of Operations or a designate thereof.
Responsibilities:
  • Administer appropriate coaching, training, providing leadership guidance and continually develop employees in accordance with the needs of the department.
  • Promote all plant safety, GMP, and food safety policies and procedures.
  • Train all Sanitation Employees on the Sanitation's procedure manual, cleaning processes, and/or any other required Sanitation Department trainings.
  • Track, record and maintain the chemicals and other supplies needed for effective sanitation.
  • Participate in customer, BRC and CFIA audits and take corrective actions to ensure compliance to all quality assurance food safety requirements on a regular and daily basis.
  • Support timely startups of production lines by ensuring all departments and lines are cleaned and sanitized in a timely manner.
  • Manage all sanitation procedures and crew activities to produce results that meet or exceed accepted quality, efficiency and safety standards.
  • Implement a continuous improvement in all areas of operation.
  • Interact with other departments on sanitation concerns and maintain strong relationships within and outside the plant.
  • Conduct monthly meetings with sanitation crew and report back to VP of operations and QA Manager.
  • Conduct weekly meetings with QA team to discuss the master cleaning schedule or any ongoing issues regarding sanitation.
  • Complete daily checks and paperwork to ensure compliance with company policy, HACCP, and CFIA regulations.
  • Maintain sanitation records including sanitation/pre-op sheets, master cleaning schedule and deviations reports for QA, CFIA and third-party audits.
  • Participate in training programs for relevant health and food safety & HACCP procedures, product quality requirements, equipment & process technology.
  • Supports the development, implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of all Quality Systems.
  • Job duties are not limited to the above and other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Diploma in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Past experience in a meat processing facility will be an asset
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in Sanitation or Quality Control
  • Intermediate computer skills (excel, work, outlook, etc.)
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Good communication / listening skills
  • Good organizational, interpersonal, and motivational skills
  • Self-motivated continuous learner
Work Conditions:
  • Hours of work can be between 6PM till 6 AM (8 hour shifts)
  • Overtime may be required
  • Required to participate in daytime audit from time to time
  • Our workplace is a meat processing facility that is an environment of multi-temperatures and varying levels of humidity. We convert live cattle into Federally Inspected beef products. Please be aware that is a condition of employment to work in all areas of the plant including the slaughter processing area.
