Krahn Engineering is seeking a Structural Engineer to join our Structural Division in Abbotsford, BC.
This position plays a key role in compiling and writing reports, and preparing drawings, estimates, and proposals. It also involves performing engineering and design for a variety of projects often related to the inspection work being performed.
Responsibilities:
- Perform structural analysis and design for a variety of municipal, residential, commercial, and industrial projects, including existing buildings and structures
- Complete structural calculations and prepare and edit structural specifications
- Conduct seismic assessments and upgrades of existing buildings and structures
- Review engineering design for compliance with established codes, standards, and specifications; provides technical support to designers and drafters
- Prepare reports and other technical documentation as required by the client
- Communicate with clients, vendors, and contractors
- Support senior staff with inter-discipline coordination, project reporting, and structural analysis and design
- Provide general project coordination services
- Coordinate with technical staff in preparation of contract drawings and documents and other work tasks
- Coordinate structural designs and documents with other disciplines (Architectural, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, and Landscaping, etc.)
- Provide structural engineering support during construction, attend site meetings, and carry out field reviews
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- P.Eng
- A minimum of 5 years of experience.
- Degree or Diploma in Structural Engineering
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Self-starter and team player
- A valid driver's license.
