Ferrovial Construction Canada Inc. and VINCI Construction Grands Projects are undertaking the design, build, and finance the Ontario Line Southern Civil, Stations, and Tunnel (South Civil) package.
As Ontario Transit Group, we are now mobilizing our design and construction crews, with major works. The South Civil contract is anticipated to be completed in 2030.
The project will strengthen Ontario's economy by supporting an estimated 1,500 jobs at the peak of construction.
What is the project?
- A six-kilometer tunnel and associated tunnelling works from Exhibition to Don Yard portal (west of the Don River).
- Stations:
- One above-ground station to be integrated with the existing GO Transit Exhibition Station.
- Two underground stations to be integrated with the existing TTC Osgoode and Queen subway stations.
- Four new underground stations (King/Bathurst, Queen/Spadina, Moss Park, Corktown).

Please note this is a co-op role that is estimated to start in May 2024 for a one-year term.
Job Description- Participate in regular workshops and meetings with external stakeholders, such as the utility owners, and the client, and take meeting minutes.
- Participate in regular interactions/meetings with internal stakeholders, such as the design consultants, and take meeting minutes.
- Review design drawings, means & methods drawings and contract documents.
- Understand design, construction, and commercial discussions and interface with each other.
- Maintain daily tracker of the communications and change orders.
- Perform third-party permit circulations and trackers.
- Currently enrolled in relevant a program, such as Civil Engineering/ Technologist / Construction Management.
- Capable of reading and understanding construction drawings and documents.
- Sound computer skills – office 365.
- Ability to use AutoCAD, Bluebeam and Google Earth Pro are an asset.
- Strong communication skills – oral and written.
- Self-motivated with good organizational skills.
- Ability to work with others as a team.
