About Us

Landmark Resource Management Ltd. (“Landmark”) is a boutique professional services and research firm that works with Indigenous communities, industry, and government to address environmental, social, and governance (“ESG”) subject matters. Much of our work supports the implementation of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (“UNDRIP”) with a focus on Aboriginal rights and title, land use and occupancy studies, socio-economic studies, land use planning, stakeholder engagement, and industry and community relations.

We are seeking a Cultural and Environmental Monitor to join our fast-growing team in British Columbia. Landmark promotes a strong team environment and looks for leaders to help our organization grow and develop.

This position will require travel as directed by Landmark's clients.

Required Qualifications

• Degree in Anthropology or Environmental Sciences
• Willingness to take training.
• Ability to travel.
• Shift work – 7 Days on 7 Days off while in the field.

Additional Considerations

• Completion of a bachelors degree or diploma in Biology, Ecology, Environmental Studies, Natural Resource Management, Archeology, or a related field.
• Experience working with fish, bird, wildlife, and vegetation assessments/surveys.
• Knowledge of B.C. environmental regulations and how they interface with construction projects/development.
• Experience working on-site or in the field with Indigenous and remote communities.
• Cross-cultural experience with Indigenous communities.

• Ability to solve practical problems in a culturally-appropriate manner and deal with a variety of variables in situations.
• Informed about Indigenous issues in Canada (historical and contemporary).
• Valid driver's license from a Canadian province or Territory acceptable for driving alone and with passengers in a work setting.

Location: Victoria and BC Lower Mainland. The majority of the work is field based in the lower mainland with office time for reporting, administration, and project meetings.

Compensation: $28-40 per hour depending on experience. Daily living out allowance is also provided while in the field.
