Our client provides its site superintendents with unique construction projects they will be proud to work on. You'll have the opportunity to challenge and expand your skills as a Superintendent working on ICI, commercial and residential construction projects.

Our client has been building projects in British Columbia for over 25 years and has played a part in many major construction and development projects across the region, including Metro Vancouver's cityscape. They are focused on client satisfaction through a culture that fosters safety, concrete ethics, collaboration, and quality execution.

As a Superintendent, you will work with the Project Manager and Foreman to ensure construction complies with project specifications and schedule. You will be responsible for planning and coordinating work of all trades, equipment, and use of materials on site to accomplish all activities safely, correctly, and efficiently.

Your work will include:

  • Overseeing and managing the entire construction process. You will be responsible for project progress, scheduling, quality control, safety, and properly delegating duties and responsibilities to the project team and sub-contractors.
  • Review relevant documents and drawings and identify discrepancies in the scope of work.
  • Proactively working with the project team to avoid any potential problems and obstacles that may arise throughout the project and ensure the constant flow of the project.
  • Completing daily site reports and POs and managing all site inspection meetings.
  • Supervising activities of subcontractors and staff
  • Coordinating sequence of work
  • Coordinating subcontractors and site staff daily to prepare for days/weeks ahead
  • Communicating with engineers during site reviews
  • Reviewing work daily to ensure correct detailing and materials are being used
  • Monitor expenditures effectively, review invoices, and manage labour and material costs according to the project budget and underlying estimate.
  • Promote a safe and healthy work environment for all personnel on site, monitor safety performance, and oversee the Site HSE Coordinator.
  • Resolve on-site issues and emergencies
  • Prepare and maintain all schedules and ensure materials and workforce are aligned.
  • Enforce all health and safety policies, procedures and protocols and coordinate with the site HSE Coordinator.

It's the right fit if you have:

Minimum of 5 years' experience in a construction superintendent/supervisory position.

  • Experience managing residential, commercial, or institutional exterior building envelope replacement projects.
  • Experience in restorations, wood frame construction supervision
  • Post-secondary education in the construction-related field ideally the carpentry industry
  • Proven experience managing complete projects from initial scope to completion.
  • Excellent knowledge of the Lower Mainland and BC construction industry
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines
