SUMMARY:

The DevOps Engineer will have a comprehensive understanding of development, infrastructure, tooling, and cloud services, with a focus on implementing best practices. This role will help drive team processes while also learning any new tools or technology.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with team members to improve the company's engineering tools, systems and processes, and data security, while maintaining thorough documentation
  • Take the lead in troubleshooting production and infrastructure issues, while coordinating closely with the development team to streamline code deployment pipelines
  • Provide technical support to the development teams by diagnosing and resolving infrastructure and performance issues, deploying new infrastructure components, and developing custom tooling to enhance efficiency and automation

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3+ years of back end development experience
  • 5+ years of infrastructure and operations experience within Cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Proficiency with managing and administering Linux servers
  • Proficiency with CI/CD tools (Bitbucket Pipelines)
  • Experience with architecting large systems (monolithic, microservices)
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
  • Experience with IaC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation)
  • Experience with security standards and tools (CIS, SOC2, ISO-IEC 27001)
  • Experience with distributed messaging systems (Kafka)
  • Strong grasp of networking fundamentals, including VPC setup, VPN configuration, and routing concepts
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinkings skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

PAY SCALE:

  • $110,000 - $135,000 CAD/annually
