Ferrovial Construction Canada Inc. and VINCI Construction Grands Projects are undertaking the design, build, and finance the Ontario Line Southern Civil, Stations, and Tunnel (South Civil) package.

As Ontario Transit Group, we are now mobilizing our design and construction crews, with major works. The South Civil contract is anticipated to be completed in 2030.

The project will strengthen Ontario's economy by supporting an estimated 1,500 jobs at the peak of construction.

What is the project?

  • A six-kilometer tunnel and associated tunnelling works from Exhibition to Don Yard portal (west of the Don River).
  • Stations:
    • One above-ground station to be integrated with the existing GO Transit Exhibition Station.
    • Two underground stations to be integrated with the existing TTC Osgoode and Queen subway stations.
    • Four new underground stations (King/Bathurst, Queen/Spadina, Moss Park, Corktown).

Job Description

The position operates in the area subcontracts, commercial, professional services, contract administration, and supplier quality surveillance and compliance.

  • Oversight of the subcontract documents workflow and maintenance (comparative charts, agreements, Change Orders, Task Orders, etc..).
  • Work closely with Subcontract Coordinators to initiate, track the approvals and archive using the project Construction Management Software.
  • Assist in maintaining the General Vendor List.
  • Assist in preparing vendor lists per work package, in conjunction with the Technical Lead and Procurement Department.
  • Coordinate with Document Control for the dispatch of / receipt of correspondence and procurement documents to Subcontractors.
  • Initiate Vendor creation for awarded subcontractors and coordinate with the Finance dept.
  • Verify that Initial Submittals required from Vendors are provided, receive, dispatch as required and track related queries, escalate issues to SubMA and file the Initial submittals.
  • Assist with the evaluation and monitoring of contract performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and determine needs for changes.
  • Support the Subcontract Coordinator with the research and evaluation of suppliers based on price, quality, selection, service, support, availability, reliability, production and distribution capabilities, and the supplier's reputation and history.
  • Assist with the evaluation and monitoring of contract performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Ensure that trackers are maintained capturing variations, commercial and technical correspondences from the client and supply chain.
  • Assist in the preparation of correspondence with professional and contractual content in a timely manner.
  • Assist in the collation of evidence / supporting documents for correspondence and for pricing under the Prime Contract and subcontract agreements in accordance with the relevant provisions of the contracts.
  • Support project team with analysis, monitoring, and processing of incoming and outgoing claims, change order requests/Variations, extension of time/loss of production claims, and assist in the associated response required.
  • Assist project team with administering and executing prime contract or subcontract changes and assessing the validity of subcontract change requests.
Qualifications
  • Graduated from a Civil Engineering Bachelor's degree program.
  • 1-2 years of professional experience in construction related procurement, contract administration or similar.
  • Proficient in Office 365 (Power Point, Word, Excel) and have a general knowledge of database utilization.
  • Basic knowledge of areas of procurement including subcontract administration, insurance, financial instruments, purchasing expediting.
  • Team player with strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently to meet deadlines, goals and objectives.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented, highly motivated with ability to effectively manage time.
