Your job:

The HR Specialist will provide operational support to the HR team by maintaining our HR systems and assisting with the delivery of programs, processes, and services across the organization. This role will require hands-on involvement in many aspects of HR including reporting, audits, benefits, recruitment, and special projects.

Reporting and Data Analysis
  • Create ad hoc reporting using various HR systems and present to stakeholders as needed in MS Suite virtually and in person
  • Maintain and improve standard quarterly and annual reporting
  • Support the annual compensation review process by system report generation and MS Excel integration
  • Assist with the research, implementation, and maintenance of strategic HR initiatives related to HR systems and data
Audit and Compliance
  • Work closely with the other HR functions to monitor and maintain audit controls
  • Develop and distribute evidence requests and parameters to the global HR team
  • Collect, review, and prepare security controls audit evidence for internal and external auditors
  • Perform regular re-occurring reviews to ensure readiness for audit season
System Configuration and Maintenance
  • Support Global Relay's HRIS (HR Information System) and PAS (Performance Appraisal System) systems, conduct frequent spot-checks to ensure 100% data integrity
  • Act as a gatekeeper for HRIS security access levels
  • Stay up to date with new features in the HRIS and PAS systems, recommend system enhancements and upgrades as needed to optimize efficiency, functionality and usability
  • Assist both internal and external teams with the planning and completion of projects that intersect with, or are supported by our HR systems
End User Support and Training
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the HRIS and PAS
  • Provide orientation and training for GR staff in system use and administration
  • Assist with technical education to stakeholders as required for new and existing HR system functionality, business processes and data entry procedures
Documentation & Processes
  • Document and update HR processes in our internal wiki; this includes maintaining our job description bank and employee guides, as well as creating and updating How-To guides in our wiki related to audit compliance
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable guidelines, policies, procedures, and standards at all times.
  • Flag anomalies and potential problems to the HR Specialist team as you see them

About you:

  • 3+ years of experience in processes, reporting, and HR systems
  • Previous experience in HR is preferred
  • Previous experience with internal audits is a strong asset
  • Completion of post-secondary program in Business Administration
  • Proven track record or organizing and prioritizing a variety of projects and multiple tasks in an effective and timely manner, set priorities, and meet deadlines
  • Strong ability to evaluate priorities and execute tasks in a dynamic environment; present and escalate findings to relevant stakeholders, including HR management
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality and discretion at all times
  • Good knowledge of HR standards and best practices is preferred
  • Strong understanding of the maintenance/monitoring required of an HRIS, PAS, ATS or similar database
  • Solid skills in the MS Office Suite, particularly with Excel and Outlook
  • Keen attention to detail with strong writing and editing skills
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent business acumen
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multi-task

Compensation:Global Relay advertises the pay range for this role in accordance with the pay transparency laws of the province of British Columbia. In addition to the annual base salary (range listed below), compensation for this role also includes a corporate bonus, extended health benefits, and RRSP Matching, and (for applicable Sales roles) an enticing commission structure.

British Columbia - Base Salary Range:$65,000—$75,000 CAD
