Job Summary:

We're seeking a Creative Strategist to join our performance marketing agency that specializes in paid social media advertising for e-commerce brands. Our crew is tight-knit yet spread across Canada, with access to offices in Edmonton, Calgary and Toronto.

As a Creative Strategist you will lead the development of data-driven briefs for branded ads and User Generated Content “UGC” with the support of your team. Your role will include idea generation, crafting hooks and headlines, creative analysis, and conducting initial and ongoing research for multiple clients. You will collaborate closely with creative strategists, designers, editors, and media buyers to develop effective advertising strategies, and foster a culture of creativity and innovation within the team.

You'll be responsible for analysing creative performance in collaboration with other departments through regular meetings and reports. Your ability to blend brand & design considerations with performance objectives will be key.

You will also contribute to client communications, creative pipeline planning and provide support to senior strategists as needed, while continuously staying up-to-date on industry trends and best practices.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop creative briefs for multiple client brands that provide direction for designers and editors including idea generation, hook & headline writing that align with business goals
  • Plan marketing calendars and creative pipelines to identify strategic priorities for advertising and ensure a healthy quota of creative deliverables
  • Collaborate with clients and team to understand brand goals, vision and voice
  • Engage with clients and team in purposeful and collaborative conversations and pitching new creative hypotheses, concepts and tests.
  • Managing and providing QA to creative production team, with support from senior team members
  • Regularly analyzing creative performance in collaboration with other departments through biweekly meetings, testing dashboards and feeding into creative insights for monthly reports
  • Collaborate with other departments to find winning strategies
  • Assist the UGC Manager with UGC projects, through ideation and briefing production team on UGC edits.

Qualifications:

  • Experience applying the principles of creative strategy, preferably in an agency setting, either as a strategist, media buyer or designer/editor
  • Experience with direct-to-consumer, e-commerce brands
  • Foundational understanding of DTC principles, strategies and techniques that drive performance
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Hungry for new ideas and the perspective of others.
  • Experience with creative analysis in ads managers/Motion/TripleWhale, NorthBeam, Google Data Studio is a bonus
  • Strong knowledge of social media advertising best practices
  • Passion for staying up-to-date with industry trends and technologies
  • Proven track record of developing high-converting social ads
  • Understanding the subtle art of balancing brand and performance
