Job Description

Reporting to the Manager, Helicopter Technologies, the Logistics & Inventory Coordinator will work closely with both the project management team and Helicopter/Fixed Wing Technologies departments to provide assistance in the logistics and organization of field surveys, as well as inventory organization in the office and warehouse. Responsibilities shall include ensuring the safe and timely delivery/receipt of goods/materials, maintaining shipping records and asset location lists, and communicating with all other departments in the company regarding these requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Control, Maintain Assets and Consumables

  • Maintain internal record-keeping systems
  • Record materials received or distributed on computer database
  • Maintain and update DATS for geophysical equipment inventory
  • Generate purchase orders to facilitate requirements for survey and manufacture
  • Perform semi-annual equipment verification
  • Record equipment purchases, disposals and repair

Survey Preparation & Planning

  • Support operations regarding import and export of all aircraft and equipment to various project sites.
  • Support all transport requirements for operations in Canada. Including vehicle rentals, cargo transports and logistics.

Administration

  • Maintain tracking system of all shipping documents and purchase orders
  • Prepare equipment lists for customs purposes for import bonds and Carnets.
  • Prepare export permits as required to facilitate shipment of controlled goods.
  • Complete all documentation for overseas shipments
  • Communicate with and monitor freight forwarders for shipping
  • Track all shipments to and from crews.
  • Responsible for small shipments

Safety

  • Be aware of and adhere to the safety policies and procedures of the company
  • Using proper lifting techniques to move smaller items about warehouse

Working Conditions
The position involves working for management and staff in a challenging service organization. The individual must be capable of working independently and as part of a team. There will be a requirement to work flexible hours as workload dictates. Will be required at times to lift smaller boxes/packages/cases to various locations in office/warehouse.

Qualifications

Education

  • College graduate preferred
  • Minimum post secondary diploma program

Experience

  • 2 years of experience in a similar position, preferably within an importing/exporting environment
  • Exposure to international shipping/receiving an asset
