Job Description

Mission

Our Structural group specializes in the engineering of foundations, buildings and structural solutions to the construction industry. Focused on providing the most cost-effective solutions to engineering challenges, we are involved in a diverse range of projects from the initial planning stages to design and construction. CIMA+ cultivates career growth and provides opportunities as unique as you are.

An immediate opportunity currently exists in Vancouver, BC, for a Senior Structural Engineering Leader. The ideal candidate will have 15 years of experience on various projects and demonstrate a high level of understanding of wood, concrete and steel design. They will have experience in managing a team of structural engineers through projects, cultivating relationships both with clients and with the staff under his/her supervision. The candidate will be driven with a desire to foster creativity by challenging his staff through developing innovative solutions to engineering challenges as well as accompanying the clients through the design process.

While working from the Vancouver office for a majority of the time, you will be able to work in a hybrid mode.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead the business development activities through the Metro Vancouver area.
  • Liaise directly with clients, and maintain business relationships
  • Prepare or supervise the structural design of buildings including commercial, residential, and institutional projects
  • Work with the project team from conceptual and preliminary stages of design through to completion
  • Ensure compliance to the quality assurance and control program
Qualifications
  • Registered Professional Engineer with EGBC.
  • StructEng designation with EGBC is an asset
  • 10-15 years of directly related experience in structural engineering
  • Self-motivation and strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks are essential
  • Demonstrate a commitment to client service that is second to none
  • Experience in a Canadian work environment
  • Knowledge of Canadian codes and standards
