Job Summary:
A QA Analyst is primarily responsible for assisting the QA HACCP Coordinator & Analyst in maintaining the facility’s HACCP, prerequisite and BRC programs. This includes all necessary analytical testing, data management, environmental & product sampling and associate training. It may also include onsite and record verifications as well as facility audits and/or other projects as deemed necessary by the QA HACCP Coordinator and/or QA Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Primarily responsible for:
- water activity analysis
- environmental sampling (swabs)
- water sampling
- sanitation chemical testing
- micro sampling (in process, staph, shelf life)
- analytical sampling and analysis (chemical lean)
- allergen sampling (finished product, spices, swabs)
- instrument calibration (scales, thermometers)
- Provide QA coverage and support to afternoon operations activities
- Point of contact for afternoon regulatory inspection
- Completion of CoCs (chain of custody) documents to accompany samples for either internal or external testing
- Record keeping of monitoring and verification documents
- Associate training (production, supervision, maintenance, engineering, etc)
- Ingredient verification as part of supplier verification program and release of ingredients for production to use
- Data entry of test results into electronic spreadsheets
Requirements:
- Basic understanding of HACCP principles and government regulations in regards to meat processing
- Computer knowledge and ability to work with various programs (Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint) to create spreadsheets, reports and written letters of response
- Organizational skills, strong ability to multi-task and work independently
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written) as required to conduct training, interact with associates, present findings and represent the company on audits
- Strong sense of teamwork and ability to work with any functional group of individuals including senior management
- Knowledge of manufacturing practices
- Technical science diploma or degree
Hiring Range:
- Hiring Range: CAD $51,158 - $63,948
- Bonus: This position is eligible for a bonus up to 5% of base salary subject to the plan terms and conditions.
- Please note that the expected hiring range provided is derived from a group of like roles within Sofina. The final offer amount for this role will be dependent on geographical region, applicable experience, skillset of the candidate and internal equity.
