Reporting to the Director, Retail Inventory & Merchandising, the D2C Inventory & Merchandising Manager is responsible for delivering sales and profitability targets across Lindt Canada’s physical retail stores. This role leads forecasting, promotional planning, and inventory strategies to ensure alignment with Lindt’s national business objectives and omnichannel growth ambitions. The ideal candidate brings strong cross-functional collaboration skills, a deep understanding of retail operations, and a results-driven mindset.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute annual sales and promotional plans to meet physical retail targets
  • Manage the promotional offer calendar, including planning, execution, and issue resolution
  • Analyze retail performance data to identify trends and recommend strategic improvements
  • Translate promotional plans into sales forecasts in collaboration with Finance and Supply Chain
  • Monitor inventory availability and identify solutions to address gaps or fulfillment issues
  • Build seasonal inventory buy recommendations for new and existing products
  • Optimize shipping methods and timing in collaboration with Planning and Supply Chain teams
  • Lead and coach the Retail Merchandising and Inventory Analyst
  • Partner with internal teams including Marketing, Communications, Finance, Retail Operations, and Digital to ensure strategic alignment
  • Collaborate with the eCommerce team to support an integrated direct-to-consumer strategy
  • Drive continuous improvement in merchandising processes and inventory management practices
  • Ensure in-store promotional activities align with brand standards and national objectives

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Complete post-secondary education, preferably in Business, Commerce, or Marketing
  • Bring 3+ years of experience in omni-channel retailing, ideally with large retail accounts in North America
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of online specialty gifting retail behaviors; experience with premium brands is considered an asset
  • Apply previous experience in physical retail business management
  • Understand sales-driving tactics and retail key performance indicators, with experience collaborating across teams to develop integrated brand and conversion strategies
  • Develop and implement new strategies and business plans that drive results
  • Maintain a strong attention to detail and high level of persistence to see initiatives through to completion
  • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, and build strong cross-functional relationships
  • Thrive in a complex, fast-paced environment with changing priorities
  • Collaborate effectively with multiple business partners across functions
  • Leverage strong analytical skills to extract insights and inform planning and execution
  • Adapt to the fast-paced retail environment and support Lindt’s position as a premium chocolate destination
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications
