Reporting to the Director, Marketing, the Portfolio Specialist supports the channel portfolio strategy and innovation pipeline for Retail (Lindt Stores and B2B) and e-shop. The Portfolio Specialist will develop and grow the portfolios while connecting channel and consumer insights to the overarching brand strategies, closely collaborating with the brand marketing, and retail teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the short-, mid- and long-term innovation (3-2-1) pipeline for e-shop and Retail in conjunction with corporate and brand strategies- across the entire brand portfolio
  • Support development of portfolio strategies while leveraging consumer/channel insights to identify the right portfolio for each brand in e-shop and Retail, with special emphasis on building out a three-year gifting strategy
  • Leverage national innovation pipeline to identify opportunities in this pipeline that can be leveraged for these channels.
  • Assess opportunities for strategic and profitable channel specific product opportunities that fit with the needs of that channel and consumer
  • Identify untapped opportunities with existing portfolio to generate profitable growth, assessing potential of ideas, developing business cases for those lead ideas and driving those lead ideas through the New Product development process
  • Leverage consumer insights and channel strategies to develop a comprehensive gifting strategy for the portfolio and 321 innovation plan that supports this strategy with a focus on D2C
  • Support continuous monthly reporting of the Retail business, while analyzing segments including all tactics and strategies to ensure effectiveness of programs building recommendations for optimization where needed and where to drive further incremental growth
  • Support consumer and customer insight analysis for these channels to infuse the consumer and shopper journey into the portfolio strategies to optimize strategies for sustainable and profitable growth
  • Support business review as part of business planning cycle to understand all aspects of the business for these channels from financial, market, consumer and trend analysis for continuous growth
  • Coordinate the new product development process for all associated products specific for these channels
  • Measure performance and conduct post analysis of launches to apply learnings to future innovations
  • Coordinate and collaborate with Brand and Retail teams to understand and embed brand and retail strategies into the portfolio channel strategy to develop relevant content in support of new product launches D2C channels
  • Manage supplier P.O.s, billing, monthly media budget reporting as it relates to any projects for this role that require marketing investment

Qualifications:

  • Min 1-2 years of progressive marketing experience in CPG (previous experience in a Brand role is a nice-to-have)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or another relevant field; MBA considered an asset
  • Nielsen knowledge as well as Cognos reporting knowledge is preferred
  • You are analytical and curious to understand the market, consumer, and customer insights
  • You can translate business goals into action plans
  • You can handle multiple projects and manage complex projects quickly with an understanding of company priorities; you have the know-how on what projects need to be prioritized and require a quick turnaround in plans and strategy
  • You are motivated to win; you show accountability and commitment to results and can obtain optimal results from team and partners through leadership and relationship building
  • Strong relationship skills to liaise with international subsidiaries, headquarters along with internal stakeholders
  • Strong presentation and negotiation skills
  • Previous knowledge in retail would be an asset
