*Work arrangement:* Independent contractor assignments The Opportunity WeRelo is seeking experienced commercial drivers to relocate road-ready commercial vehicles from the Greater Toronto Area to destinations in Alberta and British Columbia. These assignments are well suited to experienced, semi-retired or retired drivers who enjoy long-distance driving and want the flexibility to accept individual trips without committing to a regular weekly schedule. *Typical routes and delivery schedules:* * *Toronto to Calgary:* Delivery scheduled for the morning of Day 4.
* *Toronto to Vancouver:* Delivery scheduled for the morning of Day 5. Assignments are primarily one-way, with a *prepaid return flight to Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ)* arranged by WeRelo. No freight to load. No trailers to haul. No strapping or tarping. Your assignment is to safely deliver the commercial vehicle itself. Why Work with WeRelo? *Fixed Pay per Trip.* Know the agreed compensation for your assignment before accepting it. Pay is based on the route and trip requirements, not an hourly rate. *Flexible Scheduling.* Review available assignments and accept trips that fit your availability, subject to operational demand and insurance eligibility. *Consistent Weekly Payments.* WeRelo operates on a regular weekly payment schedule, with payments beginning the week after you start working. *No Driver Deposit or Bond.* There is no driver deposit or bond required. A standard screening and due diligence process applies. *Travel and Accommodation Arranged.* WeRelo covers fuel for the relocated vehicle, approved tolls, lodging, return airfare and applicable airport transfers in accordance with the trip terms. Meals are not included. *Straightforward Assignments.* Drive the assigned commercial vehicle, complete the required condition checks, photographs, inspections and records, and coordinate with dispatch through delivery. *Domestic Canadian Routes.* No cross-border driving is required for these assignments. Responsibilities Safely operate the assigned commercial vehicle from pickup to delivery; complete the required pickup and delivery condition reports, photographs and inspections; maintain applicable hours-of-service (HoS) and Schedule 1 records; communicate with dispatch throughout the assignment; and promptly report vehicle defects, warning lights, incidents or delivery issues. Drivers must follow applicable road safety, hours-of-service, vehicle inspection and recordkeeping requirements throughout each trip. Required Qualifications * At least three years of verifiable commercial driving experience, with a valid Ontario Class D, DZ, A or AZ licence, as applicable to the assigned vehicle and insurance requirements.
* A current driving record and commercial driver abstract.
* An experience letter from a previous insurer explicitly confirming zero accidents, as required by WeRelo's insurance eligibility criteria.
* Working knowledge of commercial vehicle inspections, hours of service and required driving records.
* A professional attitude, reliability, sound safety judgment and the ability to coordinate with dispatch and other drivers during multiday assignments.
* The ability to manage the travel arrangements and time away from home associated with one-way, long-distance deliveries. All applicants must satisfy the applicable insurance and screening requirements before being approved for assignments. Location and Availability Applicants must be based in the Greater Toronto Area and able to reach designated vehicle pickup locations reliably. Convenient access to Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) or another GTA airport is an advantage. Candidates must be comfortable spending several days on the road and coordinating departure, delivery and return travel with dispatch in accordance with the agreed trip arrangements.
