What you will do:

Player One Amusement Group has a part-time, fixed-term contract opening for the position of Game Room Technician, reporting to the Ontario South Regional Manager. This position is based at Sherkston Shores Funplex - 490 Empire Rd, Sherkston, ON

Player One Amusement Group employs over 400 people in 21 offices throughout Canada and the United States. One of North America's leading providers of interactive video, redemption, amusement gaming and vending equipment, it specializes in solution servicing and design for a wide range of customers in the theatrical exhibition vertical as well as community-based entertainment destinations such as bowling centres, restaurants, arcades, shopping centres and waterparks.
The Game Room Technician is responsible for the daily operations and service of the Funplex Entertainment Facility at Sherkston Shores. This role focuses on guest service issues, game-related troubleshooting, filling of merchandise and maintenance.


You will be expected to work a variable schedule which includes days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays (Monday to Sunday).


Key Areas of Responsibilities:

  • General maintenance on all entertainment equipment (includes but not limited to: replace components, test equipment, cleaning, preparation, ensure repairs are done in a cost-effective manner, maintain and update parts kit, stock and replenishment of pricing and receiving inventory).
  • Technical experience considered an asset
  • Provide exceptional Customer Service experience for all guests
  • Address and resolve guest concerns
  • Assist in maintaining the presentation and working condition of the Entertainment Room Equipment
  • Assist in maintaining stock levels of supplies for all game locations and game areas
  • Ensure the Entertainment Room exceeds the functional/cleanliness standards
  • Adhere and ensure the gaming staff meets compliance with all relevant Policies and Procedures for Health and Safety
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, onsite management, and P1AG management
  • Ensure daily, weekly, and monthly checklists and inspections are up to date according to internal and external requirements
  • Record all billing appropriately to ensure remittance from location
  • Stock counters as needed to provide ultimate guest experience
  • Ensure that the facility consistently meets standards throughout daily operations. This includes ensuring that all stations are fully equipped at the beginning and end of shifts/cross over shifts
  • Consistent communication with P1AG management and representatives

Minimum Requirements:

  • Some mechanical troubleshooting knowledge required (must be mechanically inclined)
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays, as required
  • Ability to work under pressure while complying with all relevant legislation
  • Experience with point-of-sale systems
  • Energetic and enthusiastic personality
  • Self-motivated
  • Experience with monitoring and controlling inventory is a plus
