Technology Director | Global Sourcing Technology
Who we are
lululemon is an innovative performance apparel company for yoga, running, training, and other athletic pursuits. Setting the bar in technical fabrics and functional design, we create transformational products and experiences that support people in moving, growing, connecting, and being well. We owe our success to our innovative product, emphasis on stores, commitment to our people, and the incredible connections we make in every community we're in. As a company, we focus on creating positive change to build a healthier, thriving future. In particular, that includes creating an equitable, inclusive and growth-focused environment for our people.
About this team
Global Supply Chain Technology delivers the platforms and capabilities that power lululemon's supply chain—from raw material innovation and development, costing, sourcing, quality, sustainability and traceability, trade, logistics, and distribution technology. Our team works in close partnership with core business units to ensure that our supply chain remains agile, efficient, and responsive to ever-evolving market demands. By continuously innovating and refining our technological solutions, we enable best-in-class supply chain operations to service our Guests and our stores. This collaborative approach ensures we provide exceptional experiences and support lululemon's growth in every community we serve.
The role
We are seeking a Technology Director to define and execute the multi year strategy for modernizing and transforming lululemon's global sourcing technology ecosystem. This leader will shape the strategic roadmap, elevate costing and sourcing platform capabilities, advance AI driven decisioning, and ensure operational excellence across the systems that connect lululemon to its global vendor base.
You will own all aspects of technology for Global Sourcing—architecture, engineering, security, QA automation, operations, and delivery—and oversee a globally distributed team across North America and India. You will be accountable for the platforms that support approximately 300 raw material (RM) and finished goods (FG) vendors globally, and will partner with Enterprise Architecture and Engineering on the technology evolution required to support enterprise initiatives. This role requires a seasoned leader with a proven record of developing a strong leadership bench, managing complex solutions, and thriving in complex, fast paced, and highly collaborative environments.
This role oversees technology solutions supporting:
- Product costing and should-cost modelling (materials, labor, overhead, landed cost)
- Sourcing execution (quoting and RFQ, vendor award, capacity allocation and booking)
- Purchase order management and order lifecycle for raw material and finished goods
- Supplier collaboration portals and vendor-facing self-service
- Partner connectivity (vendors, mills, agents, service providers)
- Integration frameworks (EDI, APIs, event-driven architecture)
- Master data and data quality for cost
- Sourcing analytics, margin visibility, exception management, and operational dashboards
Key responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership & Roadmap
- Define and deliver a multi year global sourcing technology strategy that enhances scalability, reliability, and speed to market.
- Translate business needs into an actionable engineering roadmap incorporating modernization, cloud migration, supplier collaboration, and responsible AI adoption.
- Partner with business Directors, Sr. Directors, and VPs across Global Sourcing and Costing to define, deliver, and support the strategic roadmap.
- Enroll cross functional technology partners in the strategic vision for Global Sourcing, and lead the creation and expansion of new capabilities that align with our strategic goals.
Platform & Architecture Modernization
- Modernize existing costing and sourcing platforms and integrate next generation capabilities (costing engines, sourcing execution suites, or equivalent).
- Drive transformation toward API-first, event-driven, and scalable integration architectures across the global vendor base.
- Lead design and implementation of secure, resilient, and responsible data management and governance frameworks for material, vendor, and cost master data.
- Partner with Enterprise Architecture and Engineering on technology evolution that supports enterprise initiatives.
Engineering Leadership
- Lead globally distributed engineering, QA automation, delivery, and support teams; develop managers and future-ready technical leaders.
- Serve as the escalation point for Technology Managers to support delivery, making thoughtful decisions on the fly and constantly clearing roadblocks.
- Raise engineering standards around quality, observability, security, and system reliability.
- Build high performing, diverse teams with a culture of inclusion, transparency, and continuous improvement, and support career progression and stretch opportunities across the Global Sourcing technology area.
Operational Excellence
- Oversee delivery, operations, and vendor/partner management across sourcing and costing systems, and own the relationship with key vendor partners.
- Manage budgets for strategic initiatives and baseline opex for Global Sourcing technology, ensuring clear ROI and optimization of total cost of ownership.
- Drive root cause analysis, systems reliability, service maturity, and measurable operational improvements.
Innovation & AI Enablement
- Introduce AI-driven decision support for should-cost modelling, quote analysis, capacity allocation, vendor performance, and exception management.
- Champion ethical, transparent, and responsible use of AI in sourcing and vendor-facing operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, related field, or commensurate relative experience.
- 15+ years of experience in technology, including 4+ years in a senior leadership position such as a Technology Manager or Technology Director.
- Experience leading large scale initiatives and modernization efforts for supply chain platforms, with highly valued experience in costing and sourcing areas.
- Proven success delivering transformations in areas such as product costing, sourcing execution, purchase order management, supplier collaboration, or vendor connectivity.
- Strong background in integration architectures (API platforms, EDI, message streaming, event-driven design).
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or Java and familiarity with data engineering patterns.
- Demonstrated ability to manage large budgets and deliver high-impact technology programs.
- Exceptional communication, storytelling, and executive influencing skills.
- Continuous learning mindset that stays on the leading edge of sourcing and supply chain technology solutions that can bring value to the organization.
- Experience with AI/ML use cases in supply chain, sourcing, or costing.
- Understanding of apparel or consumer goods product development, raw materials, and global vendor management processes.
