QA Engineer, Mobile Engineer
Hybrid position working 3 days per week from the Cineplex head office at 1303 Yonge Street, Toronto (Yonge and St. Clair).
The Cineplex Digital Products and Experience team has an immediate opening for a Quality Assurance Engineer. We are seeking a QA Engineer with a strong background in automating tests for React-based mobile applications. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in mobile application development and testing, with the capability to create and maintain robust test automation frameworks. You will collaborate closely with our development and product teams to ensure that our mobile apps are of the highest quality, delivering a seamless and bug-free experience to our users.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain automated testing frameworks and scripts using tools such as Appium, Espresso, XCUITest, and Selenium with a strong focus on mobile platforms, ensuring efficient and effective test execution across both mobile and web environments.
Designing and documenting automation strategy, defining best practices with the goal of maximizing test coverage and minimizing test cycles time via automation but reducing automation maintenance efforts/costs
Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to ensure smooth and continuous delivery
Identify and report software defects using bug tracking systems, with a focus on mobile application issues, clearly documenting steps to reproduce problems and collaborating with development teams for resolution.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, particularly those related to mobile applications, providing valuable input during the mobile development lifecycle.
Stay up to date with emerging mobile automation testing technologies, tools, and best practices, and proactively recommend their adoption to enhance mobile testing efficiency.
Mentor and provide guidance to other QA team members, with a focus on mobile automation, fostering knowledge sharing and promoting a culture of continuous learning in mobile application testing.
Education & Certification
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent
QA-related certification. E.g. ISTQB, Agile testing, Mobile Testing etc.
Experience
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with automated testing tools and utilizing CI/CD pipelines, preferably using Appium, Playwright, Azure DevOps, Visual Studio, Saucelabs or other similar tools
- Must have 4+ years of experience working in AUTOMATION as a QA Engineer
- Must have designed, developed, and maintained automated testing frameworks and scripts
- Proficient in either Javascript, C# or any other relevant object-oriented programming language
- Experience executing API tests using Postman
- 4+ years of experience working in a highly collaborative, cross-functional agile team
- Up to date with new automation tools and technologies
- Highly proficient in writing test cases, bug tracking, project/product management and test management tools, such as Azure DevOps
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Experience recommending and implementing industry leading automation frameworks
Experience testing large scale consumer facing applications
Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
Experience with troubleshooting production issues on live applications and communicating results
Contribute to the overall QA team processes/standards and make recommendations for improvements as needed
Experience collaborating with other internal team members across the organization
Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle
