The Opportunity
WSP is growing our Construction Services & Materials Engineering (CSME) team in Ottawa and is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of transportation, municipal, infrastructure, buildings, land development, and industrial projects across Eastern Ontario.
The CSME team provides construction oversight, materials testing, quality assurance, geotechnical support, and project delivery services on some of Canada's most important infrastructure projects. Our professionals work closely with clients, contractors, communities, and project stakeholders to help build and maintain the infrastructure that supports our growing communities.
As a Project Manager, you will play a key role in managing multidisciplinary project teams, overseeing project performance, supporting business development initiatives, and fostering strong client relationships. You will work closely with technical specialists, engineers, field staff, laboratory personnel, and leadership teams to deliver high-quality solutions while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and operational excellence.

Your Impact
- Manage a portfolio of construction services, materials engineering, geotechnical, and infrastructure projects from initiation through close-out.
- Lead project planning, execution, scheduling, budgeting, risk management, and reporting activities.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary project teams, subcontractors, laboratories, and field personnel.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, developing and maintaining strong long-term relationships.
- Monitor project financial performance, including budgets, forecasts, invoicing, profitability, and resource utilization.
- Review project deliverables to ensure compliance with applicable standards, specifications, quality requirements, and client expectations.
- Support and mentor junior staff, technical specialists, and project coordinators.
- Collaborate with operational leaders to support workload planning and resource allocation.
- Contribute to proposal preparation, scope development, fee estimates, and business development activities.
- Promote and champion WSP's health, safety, and environmental culture across all project activities.
- Identify opportunities to enhance project delivery, client service, and operational efficiency.
The Skills That Set You Apart
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Construction Engineering Technology, or a related discipline.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation or eligibility for registration in Ontario is considered a strong asset.
- 8-12+ years of experience in consulting engineering, construction services, materials engineering, geotechnical engineering, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience managing complex projects, project budgets, schedules, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong understanding of construction practices, quality control, materials testing, and infrastructure project delivery.
- Proven ability to manage client relationships and identify business development opportunities.
- Strong financial acumen and experience managing project profitability.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel to project sites throughout the region as required.

Compensation
AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $53.40 – $70.80
MB & ON: $48.70 - $67.10
NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $48.20 - $64.10
