Job Description: Reporting to the Manager, Digital Health, the Clinical Information Systems Specialist supports implementation and management of electronic medical records (EMR) across the region. The role ensures EMR systems align with clinical and financial workflows, overseeing quality assurance, auditing, security, and data integrity in compliance with privacy policies. The Specialist collaborates with vendors, eHealth, SHA Information Systems, and departments on EMR installations, upgrades, and system changes. Key responsibilities include leading application management, business case development, requirements gathering, risk assessment, and gap analysis. Acting as a consultant, the Specialist leads complex, organization-wide transformation initiatives and applies expertise in best practices, quality improvement, change and project management, and healthcare processes. Also responsible for configuration in rural Sunrise Clinical Manager (SCM).

Experience

  • Two (2) years experience in health care

Education

  • Health Information Management diploma (HIM)
  • Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA)
  • Undergraduate degree or diploma in Information Management
  • Business Administration diploma (DBA)
  • Bachelor of Computer Science (BCS)

Licenses

  • Valid Class 5 driver's license

Other Education and Training

  • Undergraduate degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Licensed, and in good standing, with regulatory body, if applicable
