About the Job

This is a permanent, full-time position requiring 40 hours of work per week. As a Senior Bookkeeper, you will play a crucial role in maintaining our financial health and ensuring accurate record-keeping. Your expertise will help us navigate the complexities of our financial operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Calculate and prepare cheques for payroll
  • Calculate fixed assets and depreciation
  • Keep financial records and establish, maintain, and balance various accounts using manual and computerized bookkeeping systems
  • Maintain general ledgers and financial statements
  • Post journal entries
  • Prepare other statistical, financial, and accounting reports
  • Prepare tax returns
  • Prepare trial balance of books
  • Reconcile accounts

Requirements

  • Education: Other trades certificate or diploma
  • Experience: 5 years or more in a similar role
  • Language: English
  • Work Setting: Urban area, Head office

Technical Skills

  • Proficient in accounting software
  • Experience with inventory control software
  • Strong skills in MS Excel
  • Familiarity with QuickBooks
