About the Role

Are you a skilled industrial electrician looking for an exciting opportunity to showcase your expertise? MGR Workforce is seeking a dedicated Journeyman/Woman Industrial Electrician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks that are essential to maintaining and enhancing our industrial electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble fibre-optic and coaxial cables.
  • Install and calibrate industrial instrumentation and related devices.
  • Install electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, lighting fixtures, and other electrical components.
  • Maintain industrial instrumentation and related devices.
  • Replace or repair electrical components as needed.
  • Test electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage, and resistance.
  • Instruct apprentices in best practices and safety protocols.
  • Maintain, repair, install, and test switchgear, transformers, switchboard meters, regulators, and reactors.
  • Maintain, repair, test, and install electrical motors, generators, alternators, industrial storage batteries, and hydraulic and pneumatic electrical control systems.
  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair industrial, electrical, and electronic control systems and other related devices.
  • Interpret electrical code specifications to ensure compliance.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance programs and keep detailed maintenance records.
  • Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics, and electrical code specifications to determine layout of industrial electrical equipment installations.

Supervision

You will be responsible for supervising a team of 3-4 individuals, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and safely.

Qualifications

  • Education: Other trades certificate or diploma.
  • Experience: 2 to 3 years as an electrician.
  • Certificates: Industrial Electrician Trade Certification and Industrial Electrician Red Seal Certificate.
  • Transportation: Valid driver's license and own vehicle; willingness to travel is required.

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities

  • Manual dexterity and attention to detail are essential.
  • Ability to perform a combination of sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Physical demands include bending, crouching, kneeling, and handling heavy loads.
