Key Responsibilities

As a Floor Covering Installer, your day-to-day tasks will include:

• Inspecting, measuring, and marking surfaces to be covered
• Measuring, cutting, and fastening underlay and underpadding
• Preparing flooring plans and scheduling
• Measuring, cutting, and installing carpeting on floors
• Measuring, cutting, and installing resilient floor coverings
• Preparing and installing hardwood floors
• Inspecting and repairing damaged floor coverings
• Conducting moisture, pH, temperature, and other tests prior to flooring installations
• Preparing floors for installations
• Removing existing floor coverings and contaminants
• Installing carpeting on walls or other surfaces
• Employing knee kickers and other equipment to stretch carpeting
• Performing direct glue-down carpet installations
