What You’ll Do

As a Granite Cutter, you will be responsible for:

• Operating blade or wire saws to cut blocks of stone to specified dimensions.
• Setting up, adjusting, and operating single-function machines to mix, drill, grind, and cut concrete to specifications.
• Conducting quality control checks on products.
• Moving products using forklifts, cranes, or hydraulic hoists.
• Grinding and polishing surfaces of stone blocks, slabs, or other stone products to achieve a smooth finish.
• Using sandblasting equipment to inscribe or create decorative designs in monumental stone.
• Performing ongoing machine adjustments.
• Positioning reinforcing rods or wire mesh in molds.
• Reading blueprints, schemas, and drawings.
• Drilling holes in blocks or slabs of stone according to specifications.
• Finishing stone products with spray paint and by mounting plaques or installing concrete bases.
