Key Responsibilities

  • Address customers' complaints or concerns with professionalism.
  • Load and unload goods efficiently.
  • Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods.
  • Oversee the condition of the vehicle and conduct inspections on tires, lights, brakes, and cold storage.
  • Perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections.
  • Receive and relay information to central dispatch.
  • Record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption.
  • Tarp and ensure the safety and security of cargo.

Requirements

  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma required.
  • Experience: Previous experience is an asset.
  • Licenses: Class 1/1F/A Licence (semi-trailer trucks) and Air Brake (Z) Endorsement.

  • Communication Systems: Experience with trip recorders (on-board computers).
  • Transportation/Travel Experience: Provincial/territorial and regional travel.
  • Security and Safety: Must pass a criminal record check, driver's validity license check, driving record check, and medical exam.
  • Work Conditions: Attention to detail, handling heavy loads, and repetitive tasks.
