In this role, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, inspecting, and repairing a variety of heavy machinery and equipment. Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions.
- Diagnose issues using computerized and other testing equipment to determine the extent of repairs needed.
- Order parts and maintain inventory for efficient operations.
- Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts as necessary.
- Keep accurate maintenance reports and documentation.
- Perform welding tasks as required.
- Conduct repair work on heavy trucks and service attachments and working tools.
- Verify and repair emission control systems.
- Assist process and machine operators in mineral ore and metal processing.
- Perform other routine maintenance tasks as needed.
Qualifications
- Education: Other trades certificate or diploma.
- Experience: 2 to 3 years in a similar role.
- Certificates:
- Agricultural Equipment Technician Red Seal Certificate.
- Automotive Service Licence (310S).
- Truck and Coach Service Licence (310T).
- Specialization in diesel engine repair, powered equipment repair, and mechanical maintenance and repair.
- Valid driver's licence is required.
- Must pass a criminal record check.
Work Environment
- Work outdoors in a noisy environment.
- Physically demanding tasks including bending, crouching, and handling heavy loads (up to 23 kg or 50 lbs).
- Overtime may be required.
