Your Responsibilities

As a Heavy Float Driver, you will play a crucial role in our operations. Your tasks will include:

• Loading, unloading, and transporting construction materials
• Tarping and ensuring the safety and security of cargo
• Overseeing the condition of the vehicle and inspecting tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment
• Performing pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections while overseeing all aspects of the vehicle

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:

• Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma required
• Experience: 5 years or more in a similar role
• Certificates, Licences, Memberships, and Courses:
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate
  • Driver's License (Class 3 or D)
  • Driver's License (Class 1 or A)
  • Air Brakes Endorsement
• Documentation Knowledge: Familiarity with inspection reports (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip)
• Type of Trucking and Equipment:
  • Tractor-trailer
  • Dump truck
• Transportation/Travel Experience: Local driving experience
• Security and Safety:
  • Criminal record check
