Key Responsibilities
- Select, measure, cut, ream, and thread pipe.
- Schedule materials, tools, and personnel efficiently.
- Liaise with management, engineers, and other trades.
- Instruct apprentices and share your knowledge.
- Connect piping systems to water mains, supply tanks, pumps, compressors, and control equipment.
- Install clamps, brackets, and hangers to support piping systems and fire protection equipment.
- Join pipes and piping sections using soldering and welding equipment.
- Clean and maintain pipe units and fittings, flushing systems as needed.
- Cut openings for pipes in walls, floors, and ceilings.
- Install supports, valves, piping, and control systems.
- Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipes to required specifications.
- Remove and replace worn components and reactivate systems.
- Weld, braze, cement, solder, and thread joints to join pipes and fabricate piping sections.
- Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications.
