SeamlessMD
Toronto, ON
Job Details:
Who is SeamlessMD? Around since 2012, we are a team of healthcare providers, technologists and industry professionals who pioneered digital patient care. We've been named CAN Health Network's Company of the Year, #1 by KLAS Research for Improving Outcomes and a Top 5 Remote Patient Monitoring company by AVIA.
What is SeamlessMD? Most healthcare is still delivered through paper and verbal instructions, with no easy way for providers to monitor patients and catch problems sooner. SeamlessMD solves this by enabling health systems to digitize patient care journeys with automated reminders, education, and symptom monitoring. Patients are engaged via smartphone, tablet or computer and are guided step-by-step across pre/post-surgery, oncology, women’s health, chronic care and more. Providers access real-time insights to monitor patients, catch problems earlier and improve patient outcomes. Our platform was first-in-market to integrate directly with all three major EHRs (Epic, Oracle Health, MEDITECH).
Who are our customers? Our customers are leading hospitals and health systems across Canada and the U.S., such as Sunnybrook, Thunder Bay Regional, Horizon Health New Brunswick, the University of Rochester Medicine and Advocate Health. Locally, two-thirds of major Ontario hospitals are using SeamlessMD to care for patients.
How does SeamlessMD improve patient care? Patients experience less anxiety, are more prepared for their healthcare journey and are more confident during recovery. Most importantly, our innovation works: 40+ clinical studies and evaluations have shown SeamlessMD to reduce hospital recovery times by 1-2 days, hospital readmissions by up to 89% and ER visits by up to 68%. This means patients are healthier and the healthcare system is more efficient!
In order to make SeamlessMD available to patients and providers everywhere, we are growing our amazing team. Here's where you come in…
The Growth Associate roleThe Growth Associate plays a critical role in introducing SeamlessMD to the health system leaders who decide how care is delivered. Your work would directly enable more hospitals and health systems to discover what digital care journeys like SeamlessMD can do for their patients. This is a dynamic role at a growing startup. What it focuses on will change as our priorities and strategy change, so we are looking for someone early in their career who is versatile, nimble and excited to grow with the role. This role reports directly to the CEO.
As a Growth Associate, your objectives are to:
- Increase the number of senior health system leaders - especially digital (CMIO, CIO, CDO) and clinical / quality (CMO, CQO, VP Quality) - who know SeamlessMD and engage with us.
- Get more value out of the conferences and events we attend, so that each one leads to more meetings and better follow-through than the last.
- Stay nimble and support our broader go-to-market efforts by taking on new activities and experiments as our priorities evolve.
As a Growth Associate, your main responsibilities include:
Growing our podcast guest pipeline:
- Source and secure guests for our podcast, growing the guest pipeline well beyond its current pace - and allowing us to publish new episodes at a faster rate
- Conduct strategic research and custom outreach to reach the right fit guests for our podcast
- Own guest scheduling and follow-through from first outreach to recording
Conferences and events:
- Research and recommend which industry conferences and events we should attend, - then own registration, logistics and scheduling.
- Generate and execute on creative plans to secure pre-booked meetings ahead of each event as well as while at the actual event
- Represent SeamlessMD on-site at conferences, including managing our exhibitor booth, engaging attendees and stakeholders, and recruiting prospective podcast guests and customers.
- Collaborate with our Customer Success team to secure more presentation slots for our customers - both for industry events/conferences and for online webinars. Also, own the event selection/research and presentation preparation, logistics and scheduling.
- Organize invite-only dinners for health system leaders, including developing agenda/schedule, arranging venues, and hosting on the night.
Additional go-to-market activities:
- Take on additional marketing activities and experiments as needed - for example, building account and person-level research to sharpen our stakeholder targeting, testing a new marketing channel, supporting a campaign, or helping organize a webinar.
Are we the right fit for each other?
Required qualifications:
- We are looking for early-career professionals. This role is for someone coachable, near the start of their career, is eager to learn and is seeking an opportunity for rapid professional growth. It is not a senior marketing, sales or business development role.
- Some healthcare experience or education. No specific experience is required. What matters is that you understand how health systems work, whether from a relevant degree (such as an undergraduate degree in health sciences, or a graduate degree such as an MHA, MPH, MHI or clinical qualification) or from 1-3 years working in healthcare, as a clinician or non-clinically within a healthcare organization or business. You should be able to read a health system org chart, understand the difference between a Chief Quality Officer and a CMIO, and write a specific, personalized message to a hospital executive.
- Genuine excitement for the business side of health tech. This is a go-to-market role rather than a clinical or operational one. You should be energized by the challenge of increasing market adoption of health technology, and by working out how to get more health systems to discover, trust and adopt something that improves patient care.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Much of this role involves outreach to senior executives who have no obligation to reply, so the writing has to be strong. Plus, you need to have creative chops for your messages to get noticed among the crowd.
- Able to travel to conferences and events in the U.S. and Canada, and to Toronto, Ontario for occasional company events:
- You will likely travel to conferences and events on average once/month for 2 to 4 days at a time.
- You will need to attend in-person meetings with team members in Toronto, Ontario, typically once a quarter.
- Legally eligible to work in Canada and valid passport and ability to travel to the U.S.
Required qualities:
- Agency and drive. You are self-motivated and comfortable solving problems you have not been trained on. When something is unclear, your instinct is to figure it out rather than wait to be told. This role reports directly to the CEO and you are expected to execute with little day-to-day management.
- Versatile, nimble and motivated to “get stuff done”. This role ranges from high-volume outreach to potentially experiments that have never been run here before, and its priorities will shift as the company's priorities shift. You will thrive here if you are energized rather than frustrated by that kind of change. But to be clear, this is not a strategy role - this is mostly an execution role. The right candidate will get excited by rolling up their sleeves to put points on the board.
- Enjoy doing customized research. You’ll need to find unique ways to get busy health system executives to respond - that often means doing research to find a unique way for your message to resonate with a specific person, or to get a specific intro/referral. Figuring out the right message is often more important than how many people you rach out to.
- Comfortable with AI tools. You already use AI tools (e.g. Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini) for research, drafting and tracking without being asked to.
- Warmth and social ease. You genuinely enjoy meeting new people. You are comfortable striking up conversations with strangers at a booth, making a guest feel welcome at a dinner, and following up in a way that feels personal rather than transactional.
- Highly organized. A promising conversation that never gets scheduled has no value, so follow-through matters as much as outreach.
- Thrives in the fast-moving, startup environment. We are not a huge company, we don't have everything figured out and we don't have endless resources. However, we are smart, fast and nimble. You will thrive here if you enjoy independence, love taking initiative, and are willing to grow with us as we experiment and identify new best practices.
Why you'll love it here
- Autonomy and ownership. If you’re a driver (and not a passenger), you’ll love the freedom to just run with things. Plus, the higher your performance, the more responsibility you will get and the more opportunity you will have to grow.
- Be at the forefront of healthcare innovation. This is an opportunity to engage with the world's top health systems and help them succeed with the latest digital health technologies.
- Make a positive impact on the lives of patients. It is incredibly rewarding to hear regular feedback from patients on how SeamlessMD has improved, and sometimes saved, their lives. You play a key role in helping more patients get access to this innovation.
- An amazing team. When team members move on, the #1 thing they report missing is the incredible team. Plus, every quarter we host a variety of team socials that range from: Trivia Night, Toronto Island Days, Canoeing, Blue Jays games and more!
Ready to Apply? Please submit your resume and one-page cover letter. To strengthen your application, ensure your cover letter answers:
