We're looking for an experienced, proactive and highly-motivated intermediate Human Resources Generalist who can work remotely but also tend to our office in Vancouver, BC when needed. We need you to hit the ground running -- you’ll need to get to know our team, understand how we work, and confidently make decisions that help improve our daily operations. We’re after someone who learns quickly and embraces best practices, while independently driving their own growth as a key part of the team. This is a permanent, part or full-time position at 3 to 5 days per week. This is a hybrid position and the candidate must be able to access our Vancouver, BC office when required.The salary for this position ranges from $45,000 to $75,000 per year, dependent on employment type and candidate experience.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
  • Immerse yourself into Invoke’s business to understand our place in the product development industry, and manage our Human Resources department accordingly.
  • Provide general HR support to employees and managers, including answering inquiries, resolving issues, and developing HR policies and procedures that are based on best practices.
  • Champion and refine our performance management process.
  • Manage the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, offboarding, and changes in employment status.
  • Assist hiring managers with the recruitment and selection processes, including sourcing candidates, conducting interviews, and extending offers.
  • Manage and administer our external and internal benefit programs.
  • Be responsible for a broad range of Human Resources functions and make thoughtful, impactful decisions.
  • Updating the company HRIS with all employee status changes (compensation, title, reporting manager, vacation changes, terminations).
  • Collaborate with managers to design and implement creative solutions for diverse employee engagement initiatives aimed at enhancing performance and boosting retention.
  • General office management and administration where required.

WHO YOU ARE:
  • Holds a bachelor's degree, diploma, or relevant schooling (Bachelor of Commerce, Human Resources Diploma, etc).
  • Has 2+ years of general experience as a Human Resources professional.
  • Someone who embodies our values of Quality, Influence and Growth and empowers our team to do the same.
  • A self-starting individual with a team-oriented mindset who is skilled at communicating.

  • Have worked in a digital product agency or technology firm
  • Have worked with a small team where your voice is heard!

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT:

  • To be an integral part of a small team of roughly 20 people across operations, design, development, and strategy.
  • To work independently as an HR team of one but with the support of leadership and your direct manager, the Senior Operations Manager.
  • To be given the opportunity for ownership and growth as a professional.
  • To learn about all aspects of digital product development and gain valuable insight into the operations of our business.
  • To work remotely or in our downtown Vancouver office, but with the expectation that you can be on-site when required.

LOOKING FORWARD:We love clear expectations!
After 1 week:
  • You’ve begun meeting the team to establish a base for trusting relationships.
  • You're starting to gain a clear understanding of how our HR department functions.
  • You’ve compiled a list of questions and started gathering the information needed to hit the ground running.

After 1 month:
  • You’ve got a foundational relationship with the Senior Operations Manager and have completed an accountabilities & expectations activity to define goals for the next 3, 6 and 12 months.
  • You can speak confidently to what Invoke does and how we do it.
  • You’re confident in navigating our internal tools which include Slack, Humi, Asana, Miro and other software.
  • You’ve identified areas of improvement and have begun to ideate on your approach.
  • You’re actively learning and contributing to our processes.

After 6 months:
  • You’ve coached senior leadership on employee relations, engagement, performance, and development.
  • You’ve leveraged your learnings, knowledge and experience to suggest improvements based on best practices.
  • You have a track record of providing value to our team.
  • You’ve successfully hired and onboarded multiple team members.
  • You have regular touchpoints with all departments to understand their needs.
