Support Worker

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Providing consistent and ongoing companionship and emotional support
• Assisting with self care and household tasks/routines to promote self management
• Preparing and administering daily medications
• Assisting with meal preparation and/or cooking meals for the resident
• Accompanying the resident to and from appointments and recreational activities within the community
• Assisting with money management and personal goals

Position Requirements:

• One year certificate in a related human/social service field with an emphasis on community living services or equivalent training/experience
• A minimum availability of 3 shifts in a 7 day rotation and ability to commit to availability on a long-term basis.
• Exhibits a healthy attitude towards normalization principles and is aware of their position as a positive role model
• Ability to demonstrate written, oral and interpersonal communication skills in English
• Have knowledge of and experience in Behaviour Management
• Must have legal entitlement to work in Canada
• Must provide a clean criminal reference check, as required when working with vulnerable adults.
• Access to a reliable vehicle to get to and from work.
• Must provide a clean drivers abstract.
