Position Summary The Executive Director provides Christ-centered leadership, vision, and oversight for the ministries of Youth for Christ Regina and Youth for Christ Moose Jaw (satellite location). This role combines strategic leadership, organizational management, spiritual care for staff and volunteers, and frontline youth engagement. The Executive Director is accountable to the local Board of Directors and ensures alignment with Youth for Christ Canada’s mission, values, and policies. The Executive Director is responsible for setting vision and strategy, supervising and caring for staff, providing oversight of programs, engaging in fundraising and donor development, fundraising for salary and related costs, and actively participating in youth ministry initiatives such as youth group, school programs, and mentoring. Many of the youth we serve either live in low-income families, are first generation Canadians, have mental health challenges or have never had connection with church.Key Responsibilities Leadership & Vision · Lead with a Christ-centered vision that inspires staff, volunteers, and youth· Develop, communicate, and implement strategic direction in alignment with YFC Canada’s mission and values.
Staff Supervision & Care · Provide direct oversight, encouragement, and support to staff members, fostering a culture of teamwork, trust, and spiritual growth. · Recruit, train, and develop staff and volunteers, ensuring they are equipped to minister effectively. · Ensure staff performance reviews are completed annually.
Program Oversight · Provide leadership and involvement in Regina’s frontline ministries (youth group, school programs, mentoring) while overseeing programs in both Regina and Moose Jaw. · Evaluate programs regularly to ensure effectiveness, sustainability, and alignment with organizational vision.· Encourage innovation and creativity in developing new ministry opportunities, including mobile, school and community outreach initiatives.
Fundraising & Donor Development · Raise personal financial support in keeping with YFC Canada’s ministry partner development model. · Raise support for programming and overhead costs.· In collaboration with the Partnership Development Coordinator, lead organizational fundraising efforts through donor cultivation, events, and partnerships. · Engage strategically in activities that expand the financial capacity of the organization including donor meetings, public speaking engagements and events.
Spiritual Leadership · Model a Christlike character and lifestyle of prayer, faith, and dependence on God. · Provide spiritual encouragement and pastoral care to staff, volunteers, and youth. · Ensure that biblical principles and prayer saturate all aspects of ministry planning and execution. · Adhere to YFC Canada’s Community Covenant and Statement of Faith· Complete the YFC Canada credentialing process within 2 years of start date.
Administration & Governance · Ensure responsible financial stewardship, budgeting, and reporting in partnership with the board and finance staff. · Maintain organizational compliance with YFC Canada policies, government regulations, and charitable standards. · Oversee operational systems, risk management, and human resources in alignment with best practices. · Attend YFC Canada required training, conferences, retreats and meetings
Qualifications · A mature and growing relationship with Jesus Christ, actively involved in a local church community. · Minimum 7–10 years of ministry or leadership experience (youth ministry experience strongly preferred). · Proven ability in team leadership, staff care, and organizational management. · Demonstrated experience in fundraising, donor development, and community engagement. · Strong communication, relational, and conflict-resolution skills. · Ability to manage change.· Visionary and motivating.· Ability to balance frontline ministry with strategic oversight. · Bachelor’s or master’s degree in ministry, leadership, management, or a related field (preferred but not required).
